“On the 20th of May, 1747, I took twelve patients in the scurvy on board the salisbury at sea. Their cases were as similar as I could have them.”  - James Lind

Each year, the International Clinical Trials' Day is celebrated around the world on or near the 20th of May in order to celebrate the day that James Lind started his famous trial on the 20th of May 1747 (www.jameslindlibrary.org).

Because the public health challenges of Cinical Research are not restricted to a single country, the transnational communication on Clinical Research requires initiation and co-ordination by a transnational platform like GCP HelpDesk, having the objective to facilitate better clinical research, relevant to the needs of patients everywhere, this forum opening up its discussions on clinical research with a great tribute to James Lind.
